Brexit vote? MKT reaction?

Hi O, I totally under estimate this market at times and I am not so sure about falls. To begin with I thought so and as Sterling was falling thought we would do well with Gold, however Sterling now appears to be level, pegging against the Dollar, and the FTSE futures are up? I can even now see GBP rising against the Euro.
I think the Market might be more afraid if it feels Corbyn is to get in, but I have a feeling the Conservatives might get now rallying and the Ulster Unionists may get back behind them too. It will be an interesting couple of days, but I do not feel we are in a bad place here to be honest. We appear to be very resilient with Aca. .

RE: Gold in GBP up as GBP Falls

But when the dust settled £ was up 0.1% against $ and 0.67% up against € - the markets are predicting that U.K. will not leave the EU - I still think they are wrong - might have to buy a yellow vest.

Brexit has become an absolute shambles.
Think the market could be in for a battering tomorrow.

Not surprised by the above what with the govts massive defeat in the Commons. Gold and other USD commodities likely to increase.

RE: Dimi -You may get lucky.

Super, BB, thank you for the nice words and the encouragement! Hopefully, ACA will help us all get closer to our financial goals. Certainly the results from yesterday are quite positive.

RE: Dimi -You may get lucky.

Yes over 30 years ago I found the same. Bought a house in the Country and then with my wife starting driving to a station nearer to London (17 miles away) (both saving on our train fares). Then when the house prices fell early 90's bought our house in commuter belt after using the equity from our first house in the Country. It was a struggle at first but it soon worked out when we decided to move out again and bought a house in the Country that doubled in price in less than 8 years. Some good areas to live are based on train connections it seems. Chelmsford will have another station soon, Colchester is developing and the Thames /Kent gateway could be good places, if based around London. Obviously you will not be able to afford, Brentwood, Chislehurst or places like that at first. Good luck you sound like you have a wise brain anyway.

RE: Dimi -I take every day at a time,

Thanks dimi, I have noticed your input on quite a few boards and you certainly seem to know the game so I am confident that you will get where you want to go just keep at it - you certainly have time on your side. My favourite comment from the video is ‘to a man with a hammer everything looks like a nail’ - I bet I will use that at some point. ATB

RE: Dimi -I take every day at a time,

Super, very wise words! I also see investing as a hobby and as a temperamental/intellectual challenge. I like the intellectual process. I do hope that it will help me to one day buy a flat in London (I'm in my early thirties and live in London). Rents and property prices are absolutely ridiculous over here and it's hard to save for a deposit. Even though I'm lucky to earn quite well I can't count on the bank of mum & dad so I have to take matter in my own hands.

Back to investing here's my favourite video about how to invest in shares:

RE: Dimi -I take every day at a time,

Dimi, main thing is keep healthy, take every day one at a time and enjoy life..

Money is not everything. I only go on here as a hobby really.

That said like you I hope we can stay around here on price as surely this whole storey will have a happy ending soon. I will probably then miss coming on the Aca LSE site and need to find another share to devote most of my time. Good luck to one and all tomorrow. .

RE: Trades

Super, I'm happy for the price to stay around 1.90 for another 10 days or so till I get my Jan pay check. Then I can top up one last time before MB's mid Feb announcement on what his plans are for ACA!
