RE: Result...

I will add that it is wrong to blame teacher since she is only a figurehead, and will have been advised at all stages by highly-paid civil servants ,who will have worked behind the scenes with their Euro counterparts. It is, however, not unusual for these unelected bureauocrats to deliver bad advice to their leaders. A classic example is teachers snap election in the hope of an increased majority, recommended by her two "special advisers". We all know how that went. Hopefully the "special advisers" have now been forced to get a proper job.

RE: Result...

Given that the remain campaign was poorly run due to their assumption they would win, and the leave campaign lied about the 350 million per week (ignoring the rebate of 150 million per week negotiated by Maggie) and neither campaign pointed out the big issues that now face us i.e. Irish border, border controls at Dover etc. (delays for just-in-time deliveries) what is wrong with a second referendum, now we have clearer vision of the problems facing us ? I hear people saying it will cause civil unrest, but this should not be the case, since general elections have been held within 2 years of the previous one, and the result has been different due to people changing their minds from the previous one. So, now people understand more clearly all the implications, another referendum would settle for sure the public opinion in the light of all the extra knowledge available. If the result is still "leave", I don't know what comes next !

Totally agree with you JL...we are on the same page here.
PM has to do what the rejection votes want her to do and if the EEU donít budge then Singapore style would be good for Britain but will take longer time to achieve to copycat singapore. We are different mentality, people and just less than 50% wants to stay in EEU! So to prevent chaos and riots it will be better now to get a far better deal or showing the people here that we are trying now with EEU and if it fails then the other half wouldnot be so angry...
Then we got what we want either way and stay united as a nation with our great history and build our Britain the way we want.

Hasiba. Agreed Mr C would be a bit disturbing. On the other hand, the idea of soon becoming an immigrant does not feel with joy.

RE: Result...

Doubt she will get any significant concessions from Brussels. She's fannyed about for 2 bloody years running down the clock. The 230 thumping tonight serves her bloody right! I dont believe a no deal is the catastrophe remainers say it will be.
This country has great companies, great entrepreneurs has been a great trading nation since time immemorial. To suggest the roof is going to fall in overnight is utter rubbish. There's a big wide world out there who would trade with us given our island status.
Why not another Singapore?
Don't tell me we couldn't be another Singapore which was little more than a big mosquito infested swamp until Raffles sorted the place out.

We need more get up and go, more of the buccaneering spirit of Nelson, Drake, Raleigh, Churchill & the blessed Margaret.

RE: Re result..

Tartine.....430 mp voted against the deal..is not this strong enough! The EEU is certainly took notice tonight.
The alternative is chaos with Mr C might just sneaks in and this is for me frightening in my later life.

JL....
My bet on
NO 4/7

It will be divisive in a big way.
At least our PM can go back to EU leaders with a strong hand with the strong results at hand now.
This present deal was a disaster for Britain and its sovereignty.

H...you are a betting man. Investing in G is probably the bigest bet of your life?
As to another referendum cannot see this happening, too divisive especially if remain won, then how about a play off?
If you fancy a bet here's the choice. A second referendum In/Out before 2019
is ...
No 4/7
Yes 13/8.
