A reminder

SolGold's CEO and Managing Director, Mr Nick Mather, commented on the Alpala MRE: "This maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) is a tremendous start and in our view by no means represents a final size or grade because the deposit is still growing. That the maiden MRE is so big, achieved with so few drill holes and that such a large percentage is in the indicated category is testimony to the size of the system at Alpala.  SolGold plans to announce updated MRE statements throughout 2018.  We plan to immediately follow this maiden MRE up with initiation of a PEA (Preliminary Economic Assessment) of the deposit at Alpala, towards commencement of the PFS (pre-Feasibility Study) later in 2018.

This is from the RNS announcing the MRE from 3rd Jan 2018.

The uncertainty really, and the flip side is there is probably more than one major fancies ours when it’s proved up

There is no perfect copper resource, or at least it’s unlikely there will be any from here

With copper prices set to rise medium to long term new mines will be necessary and they have to come from somewhere

I now think the other stuff sort from the resource is just as important in a major deciding on whether or not to take on a project

Governmental support and that of the community, strong and ethic management with a proven track record
Proximity to power and transport

We have this ‘other’ stuff IMO it’s now a case of how much high grade we find

RE: Copper

I'll post up some thoughts when I get a chance.

You make a valid point when you say it's not easy comparing open pit with block cave. And GV, you make an equally valid point when you point out some of the larger resources not or unlikely to move forward. Pebble and Reko Diq have been around for ages.

I don't have a brownfield chart. I just came across this one.

RE: Copper

thanks for the chart
it goes to show there are some real big resources not moving forward for whatever reason.
im pretty confident alpala will be on that top 10 there soon enough, and then if aguinaga adds anything like solg were expecting and i am too does that stack up to moving it to a brownfield ?
have you a similar brownfield chart handy ?
from the survey data id stake tandayama having similar to aguinaga and again adding to brownfield over a green field status.

RE: Copper

I’m very happy for any opinions on here from genuine posters

By genuine I mean those being honest and they are who day they are

I believe you are a genuine poster, whatever your views are

You must see how at time some including myself have doubted this, but in hindsight if they were your genuine thoughts then I apologise

I certainly don’t have you down as one of the clowns

RE: Copper

That’s not true

You clearly have a decent knowledge around this stuff, more than myself any how

I was just interested in how you see things comparatively to those you posted

Obviously you don’t have to say anything

RE: Copper

I put it up because I know some people are interested in what other projects are out there and I thought it would be interesting and useful.

I'm all for people posting as they see fit, I just thought that some might find it more interesting than the bickering.

People can bicker away, it's supposedly a free world. And make of the post what you will. My impression is that you'd never be satisfied with what I have to say anyway.

RE: Copper

so if, as I understand you like KAZ at current price and the Russian project potentially, with grade of 0.43%, Im guessing you are comparing us favourably with that we are likely to have here?

Its not easy comparing block caving with open pit until the figures come in here, I believe the revised MRE and PEA will put many minds at rest re this being economic, but in practice we need to wait for these figures to be confirmed.

For me its looking more likely as we get more high grade intercepts, would you not agree?

Re sold half

On the way up, oh wise one

By your own admission you’ve only recently got on board and it’s gone down, but you’ve made cash on the way up?

I knew you were full of it, but please this is getting laughable
